Description
Sometimes, love doesn’t need words. It needs chocolate and gameshows.
Pick between 3 fabulous contestants, all with different tastes in chocolate. Who will you choose, and what ending does this show hold for you? Do your best on the Confection Bachelor!
Thoughts
I made this game back in February this year in a short game jam, spending less than a day to start and complete it. The rules were it had to involve romance, chocolate, and some narrative. I usually make more gameplay heavy games, so this was a good opportunity to develop some of my other creative skills.
Before the jam I thought about some ideas, and decided the game would be a gameshow with three contestants, and a host. After an intro scene, you would play a mini game that decides who you end up with. I originally imagined multiple rounds of mini games and being able to pick dialogue options with the contestants, but I only had time for the one quick mini game. I made the code, art, and dialogue using GameMaker.
I did have time to implement multiple endings! Depending on your score and the top confection you get in the mini game, you can get 1 of 8 different endings! You can even end up with the host himself! So try it out on my itch or Newgrounds, you can finish it in less then 5 minutes and it’s playable in browser.
